Swaraj Abhiyan is a political movement started by Former AAP leader Yogender Yadav. This movement claims to transform ‘Ideals’ into ‘Reality’. Swaraj Abhiyan aims to achieve 'Swaraj’ (Self-rule) in all aspects of life - political, economical, social and cultural. == Background == Nearly four years ago, a journey began under the banner of “Jan Lokpal Andolan” (India Against Corruption) which travelled through Jantar Mantar, Ramlila Maidan and India Gate to explore various ways of transforming our country and re-energize the people of India. This envisioned a new kind of politics and dream of ‘Swaraj’ - for ourselves, the country and for the movement. The movement joined electoral politics and Aam Aadmi Party was formed. Major differences among founder members surfaced in February 2015 when Yogendra Yadav and Prashant Bhushan wrote a joint letter to National Executive. They questioned Arvind Kejriwal's unilateral decision making approach and alleged about compromising the party's core principles of Swaraj and ethical standards that were the hallmark of the party. This started a series of allegations and counter allegations which resulted into removal of Yogendra Yadav and Prashanth Bhushan from PAC (Political Affair Committee), highest decision making body of the party. Then they were removed from the National Executive also after the party's National Council passed a resolution to expel them for their alleged anti-party activities. Both of them accused the party for murdering the democracy and resorting to intimidation and hooliganism at the national Council meeting. However AAP refuted the charges. These developments led to an open dialogue - "Swaraj Samwad", conducted by disheartened members, leaders, volunteers and supporters of AAP on April 14, 2015 to discuss present situation and future of Alternative Politics. In the 'Swaraj Samwad', a resolution〔(【引用サイトリンク】url=http://www.swarajabhiyan.org/content/news/23 )〕 was passed and 'Swaraj Abhiyan' was formed to strengthen the struggle for 'Alternative Politics' and 'Swaraj' within the party and political system. Eventually Yogendra Yadav, Prashant Bhushan, Anand Kumar and Ajit Jha were removed from the party. Swaraj Abhiyan started a series of 'Swaraj Samwad' across the country on Alternative Politics and ways to implement it.
